Hi all, not posted for a while but thought I'd post this as a reminder to watch your bikes.
Took the 1000 Fireblade out for a spin today and decided to call in to the old folks for a cuppa. I've been doing this for over 10 years and always park on their path outside their old folks bungalow and never had a problem, I'm aware it's fairly open so usually keep close to the window to keep on eye out.
Anyhoo, I'd had my cuppa and was getting my gear on when I noticed someone with a crash helmet on walking into view, strange maybe he's broke down, spotted the bike and come to ask for help, I like to think the best of people, he continued then cut across the grass, my bike was slightly out of view so I moved across so I could see it and watched as the little bastard slung his leg over it. Realising what's up I leg it to the front door and nearly tear it off it's hinges like an absolute madman.
This seemed to get the scumbags attention as he jumped upright, shit himself, leapt off and legged it down the road to his fellow scumbag waiting on a bike with no plate, wearing full leathers there was no way I could catch up so stood watching until they were out of sight.
Fortunately the bike was fine, steering lock on, easily broken but scumbag looked like he couldn't snap the twig of a tree, Honda HISS prevents starting, the worst he could have done was wheel it around in circles, but since his arse was on the seat for about three seconds he didn't have time to do anything, just a couple of chancers trying their luck. Checked for scratches and scuffs from wayward feet jumping on and off but nothing, all is well.
If there's any justice they'll both get that nasty virus and shit themselves to death because there's no toilet paper, harsh yes but f**k em, I don't like thieves.
Anyway, I'm back in the garage, cleaning the bike down and apologising profusely to it for letting a scumbags arse grace it's seat.
So watch your bikes folks, scumbags appear from nowhere.
Oh and apologies for going AWOL, I still have the Superdream and it's still going strong, I do miss the old build thread, it's due a check over for this year, I'll revive it if any work needs doing, beer and swear box at the ready 😄.

It's a pity that in this country we must use a camera not a gun.

in the 47 years riding legally I have had one bike stolen now the old bikes when parked are always in mine or a friends sight the new stuff I carry two disc locks all the time they fit in the jacket pocket one for the front and one for the rear harder to push away. I never go home the same way and have a ride around just incase .if they want your bike the professional scallywags will get it its the opportunist f***s you need to make it hard for them.i have a highly modified gilera runner sp the last of the 2T its the best bait bike ever.all you can do is make it awkward and they go to the nest victim
