Hi from Belgium!
When I was 21, I bought a Yamaha XS250 because a friend of mine had one. I always told myself I should have bought a CB400N instead! Almost 30 years later, she's finally parked in my workshop. 48000km, some oil leaks, missing right side cover but in pretty good condition for the rest. Running fine.
My plan is to restore it as close as possible to the original. I've already disassembled the engine and I will have some questions!

Thanks for your answers! I'm hoping to find answers to several questions here.
About the seat, I'm wondering wether the foam was cut to lower the bike. I discovered this afternoon that the rear shocks rods have been cut, about 2 cm. Both of them are bent.
When stripping her, I was positively surprised that most part were untouched. What I see is what has been done in Japan almost 40 years ago... This reinforces me in my project, restore it as close as it was when it came out of the factory.
I will post questions and pictures in the next days.

Thank you very much to ian and na44superdream for pointing me to the rear shock absorbers (that's exactly what I was looking for) and to eBay.de. Strangely, the side covers didn't show up when I did the search from eBay.be, even if I enter the search in German. Other question, I will need to replace the seat cover (not an issue) but also the foam which has been cut to lower the pilot seat . Any idea about the foam ? I don't see myself cutting a block of foam to the original shape.

Welcome, you will find the Honda a far better bike than the XS 250,I have had both they are a world apart. No doubt about that. I rode the CB for 20km before starting disassembly. Clearly far better than the XS! I'd like her to be ready for summer hot days.
