Hello fellow Superdreamers, My name is Haydn, from Sydney Australia and I recently acquired a bit of a rough 1980 CB400N at a bargain basement price.   Previous owner was a spray painter by trade so it's got a fresh paint job, but unfortunately he wasn't much of a mechanic so mechanically it was pretty rough.   The airbox was incomplete... was missing the lid, all internals and the rubberboots the connect to the carbies. Had a couple of broken indicators, was missing the battery and rectifier, light switch lever on the right switchgear is missing the little plastic bit (see pic above). All in all pretty happy with it... even if it is painted Parakeet Yellow! I can honestly say I have never seen one of these bikes on the road in the 25 years I've been riding so it's nice to have something unique. |

I think Yellow is one of the best colors for bikes - love the yellow Yam RDs
Put some decals on the tank job done
You have tempted me on the yellow when I rebuild my NC

I'm trying to think what original Decal type would look the most passable as a factory limited edition. First thoughts are between ( for the NC..., CB400NB (NH-1) Orange/red. CB250NDB orange red (easy to apply) With 400 side panel emblems. CB400ND Type 6 (Double red stripe) or Type 5 with the Dark blue lower, red pin stripe and off white upper. |

Haha! Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Yeah, I was originally a bit hesitant about the yellow but then thought what the heck I'm gonna roll with it. Here's a mock up I did in photoshop on how I envisage it could look once she's all back together...  Obviously taking a few stying cues from other bikes but I think it could work I have a tank, side covers and ducktail in original condition in black from a later model ('83?) but the tank has a couple of dents and scratches and the decals on the side covers are faded.  Plus I kinda like the early non-flared ducktail on mine. |

Gets my vote - apart from the exhaust wrap, just not into that. The bike looks great though - go for it!
