Only in the U.S can you take your comstars shopping with you. What bought about this madness? More in a bit.

Some members may remember.....I bought a white touch pen last month to achieve the effect found on the Nighthawk's factory fitted O.E.M tyres. Unsurprisingly, at some point in the bike's 36 year history, the originals were replaced........but whoever did it decided to opt for non-RWL versions of the Bridgestone Spitfire.

This just wouldn't do. I've always liked the white detailing on tyres but on the 'right' vehicles. It's so so 1980's, memories spring back to watching films as a kid such as Smokey and the Bandit and Back to the Future recalling the 'Goodyear' or 'BF Goodrich' in white........loved it. Never suited to a Superdream IMHO but Honda got it bang on doing it to the Nighthawk series, again IMHO. I inspected the tyres fitted to the Nighthawk a bit closer and found some slight cracking around the walls, they looked to be around ten years old. Therefore there was only one thing for it......to find a new set of RWL tyres. I went in search of the original Dunlop Qualifiers......sadly, no longer produced in the 100/90 19 and 130/90 16 sizes. (Following image courtesy of fleabay) So on the blower I got.........

I tried painting in the detail on an old bike many years ago (I put continentals on and doctored them to read mental, we are all young once) the tyre ‘pen’ I got was useless the best thing I found was a set up like touch up paint with its own little brush attached the pot lid, then its steady hand time

Tomorrow I am intending to get over to Venice to attend a VJMC style meet on the CB450SC. Will hopefully get some snaps of some interesting classics. She's got new gas (sorry petrol), new tyres, new plugs.......she's running like a peach and all ready to go.
