Will it get us all in the end though?
God what a morbid thought. I hope not.

Death and taxes no escape So true of course.....so we must make the most of everything whilst we are here for this short time? & it is a short time, it seems ages while your a child growing up, you never think your going to get old, but as soon as you leave school, boom.... it also speeds up like a black SD, the older you get the faster it goes, so chaps get out on those lovely bikes & enjoy them, I did a whole tank of petrol yesterday, 117 miles to be exact ! my mate is running in his scooter & perfect weather for bikes. A guy on my delivery who had a fully restored E type soft top in red which I love, spent years & years restoring & it is like new proper nut & bolt restoration, when he finished it around 15 years ago, put it in his garage & never drove it apart from a run to garage one a year. he died around 3 years ago & the car still sits in the garage as he told his wife what it's worth & not to sell it for a penny less & the loyal wife is good to his word so the car will sit there until one day she is gone & then the kids will flog it for whatever they can as it will have no meaning to them, I just think it's a shame that the guy that restored it did not get the enjoyment in driving it.

remember though the guy was probably happy in a world of his own restoring that e type and messing about with things can be a greater joy to some people than actually going out and driving/riding them, I just hope he could stand back admire a beautiful car and know he’d done a good job

Off to Jacks Hill Triumph day tomorrow
Dig the 3TA out of the garage - changed oil - ChNged gearbox oil - changed primary drive oil - then tried to start her - nothing
After 3 hours diagnosed it as a faulty ignition switch. Run some temp wires in - bought a toggle switch from Halford’s - she’s running
Need to order a new ignition switch Monday- £80 ish £ but has to be done

I hate throwing old SD parts away but in the end she was just too far gone. I did not want to see her suffer any more. Last rites were read at 11:38am today and a small ceremony followed at Beaconsfield dump in Buckinghamshire. Just off to the wake now at the Dog and Sprocket. RIP 18130-413-003 (number 17239 off the production line) .....you served well and will not be forgotten. You had your time, and you did everyone who came across you proud.
