you are welcome nick,i still enjoy her and still show her.....everybody at the shows loves this bike but classic bike forums on facebook just slag it off....people hold grudges for ever...so much negativity linked to these models but i still really like mine and as you know i have other mega classics nick...its all about the 70s and 80s....i refuse to pay 8 grand for an rd purely for nostalgia.

Hi Paul
You're so right about the slaggers, they wont let the success of a bike put them off, sales, price reliability, ease of maintenance etc. I also have a Moto Morini 350 K2 some aspects of that bike are better and some are worse but I find it pointless to compare, when you have an old bike it maybe for many reasons but it is unlikely because you compared it to a modern bike or even its contemporary's.
Back in the 70/80's I quite fancied a K2 but I bought a 250 SD, the price of a K2 was significantly more and was not known for reliability and I had to get to work to pay that mortgage (oh those interest rates) so it was the SD for me and they never let me down. If you were a London commuter that needed a bike come rain wind or shine that was insurable, cheap to run, affordable (£320 for a 78 in 1980 I seem to remember but I wouldn't swear to it) then it was the obvious choice, so let them slag away.
Love your bike
Mike
