Hi Guys,
I had a high tibial osteotomy on my right leg two weeks ago and will be on crutches for six weeks, and off work until January, but hopefully will lose my limp and be pain free for the first time in a while.
The downside, No riding or driving for a while, and I’m bored out of my skull, and miss going to work and doing normal things, but writing this has passed 5 minutes,
I will be on here a lot more and the banter keeps my spirits up so keep it going please lads, as I know you will.
Cheers,
Fordy

I know what you mean, I cut the sole of my foot on a bit of glass, whilst overseas 22nd Oct, tiny puncture mark, put a bit of savlon on it and thought nothing nothing more. When back in the UK a few days later developed into a nasty infection, over the week initial anti-biotics did not halt it. Two weeks in hospital, one op and frequently hooked up to many flavours of IV anti-biotics . Back in the home for a week and a half now, but very slowly recovering, though the infection may now be defeated . Waiting for an MRI scan on the 30th Nov. I can appreciate how the lack of mobility is frustrating, I can't do anything useful at the moment. I won't be near the bikes until the new year probably ! Hope you recover soon.

Same as everyone else Fordy hope you are fully mobile soon and I am with you on the boredom front a few years ago I fell onto a fence post and broke 4 ribs and punctured a lung was in hospital for a week and off work for 3 months and when I started feeling a bit better I was ringing up work to go back but they would not let me so after about 3 weeks I was still in pain but I was fed up so I painted the bedroom but to do the high bits I was standing on a chair on the bed with a roller trying to reach the top and the wife came in and gave me a right bolocking so I just stuck to cutting the grass every day

Hope the weeks pass quickly for you Andy, and must feel good to be free of the pain now. At least you & John picked the right time of year to be off the bikes.

Yes thanks Rich, slower than I would have liked but I’ll get there, hope everything is OK with you mate.
Just coming off the crutches now, full recovery in 3-6 months, lots of strengthening and physio to come, missing riding like mad, took a short ride to Barry Island a Couple of days ago, riding was ok but difficult if road camber put me in my right leg, and getting it back on centre stand, well....
