No match for a factory silver bike still in terms of performance. A mere Christmas Tree.

Lovely period brochure which I can honesty say I've never seen before.
I wonder how many of the 'SR1' kits were sold and how much they would of cost back in the day. Yours is the only one I've seen....must be so so rare.

By the way - brochure states there that they were made in the U.K.
I wonder if they were made under licence by Oxford. I have an Oxford Nose Fairing (Honda stamped) which is also shown in this brochure.

I'm honestly not sure but yeah i noticed the made in the UK thing too. It was only yesterday that i even managed to find any real official info on the fairing and during that research ended up on here via the Rocket Ron advert i found in google images
Its funny because almost all of my biker friends first reaction usually is gees that is UGLY and then it kind of wins them all around

You can pick them up on ebay. There is a guy on the VJMC facebook page who has 3000 brochures and he seems to be a wealth of information because when i posted my SD up he was able to reference the catalogue and show me the brochure within no time I think he's involved with the Honda Enthusiasts Club in some way I bought one off eBay yesterday but they are readily available, obviously i'd love the one above but heres an example of something nice to have. Its funny i've been throwing these brochures in the recycling bin for years not considering how nice they are to own with a classic bike tinyurl.com/ztjhl8b

You have to admire that adverts honesty, it wouldn't happen now. I love the look of that SR1 kit and Gary's bike is certainly very rare.

Hi all. I have a couple of the SR1 fairing kits. Originally back in the late 80s I had one fitted to a CB250NBDX and then put it on a CB400NC. The CB400NC had only covered 2.5k so I've returned that to standard and the fairing kits have sat in my garage for a few years! The intention is to build a bike around the fairing kit. I've been acquiring parts for a while but haven't started yet. It will have a 450cc engine, 400ND wheels, probably CB350S bars and 450DX footrest hangers. I have the original fitting instructions too. I probably have a price list some where too. The kits were available painted and unpainted. My first kit was unpainted and was sent to Dream Machine. They did an ok job but made a couple of mistakes which was a bit annoying. I tried to buy a painted set but although the fairing came with original paint the rest of the kit was badly painted with a different paint scheme. I believe Queens Park Motors in Manchester sold a few Superdreams with the kits fitted to get rid of old stocks! I'll try and find some photos to post Mark
