Pauls400/4 is a 77 but it only has headlight on is there different laws for different states or was it a year thing I think it was probably regulatory across the whole of America during approx 78-90......but don't quote me on the exact dates... This feature seemed to be called 'running lights'. The amber front indicators (not the rear) stay on all the time with the headlight and as Ian says, when a signal is applied they flash, although the flashing light is brighter than the amber running light (the fitted front indicator bulbs are double filament). My CB450SC Nighthawk did exactly the same thing - that was a late 1982 reg bike.

Looks like I was right Nick seen two fireblades racing over the mountain this afternoon both with daytime running lights on (indicators in wing mirrors ) Still don't know if it's certain manufacturers or not but that's Hondas and Suzy's I've seen

Yes but looks rather grim. In fact, it looks kind of abandoned save for the ugly new machine in the window. Wish that was a silver CB250N there.

Honda seemed to fall out with a lot of the old school dealers or vice versa. I know this from having many a chat with Mick, the parts guy (since the 60s) at Harpers of Cowley before they finally went down the pan a few years back.
Seemed they were asking the dealers to jump through hoops and had no qualms about stamping on the little guys. The golden times have well and truly gone.....it's only enthusiasts like us that remember the good times and have any care in keeping the bikes alive......the manufacturer has zero interest in this case.

Trouble was dealers were forced to spend thousands on kit to service so many different models one story springs to mind that Dave has mentioned was where he worked they had to spend thousands on special tools and the like for the cx turbo and they only sold 2 and they were the main dealer for miles around
