Thanks for signposting wazzbo's guide to stripping carbs. What a brilliant job he has done, very detailed, easily understood by novices like me. I was very discouraged after reading other articles about stripping these carbs. Having cut my teeth a long time ago on Amal Monoblocks and Concentrics, the previous articles including workshop manuals might as well have been written in Swahili for all the benefit I gained from them. Then along came wazzbo's guide with loads of superb informative photos and even his mentioning a "tang" didn't faze me for long when I could see exactly what he meant. What a hero! Now all I need is a set of JIS screwdrivers - another very useful tip, never heard of them before but couldn't understand why not one of my crosshead bits seemed to fit - and I have all the bits and pieces I need to refurb my carbs WITH CONFIDENCE.
This also emphasises just how valuable this forum is to me and many like me. I can't contribute much but I sure as guns get a hell of a lot out of the forum. Keep up the great work guys, it is very much appreciated.

Hi guys I'm in the middle of a carb cleaning Hokey Cokey.. They've been on and off about 5 times now. Fitted a carb refurb kit, new o rings, etc...... Still not running right.
Saw this thread. Thought yesssssss............ I do not have the right to acces it...... Anyone point me in the right direction so I can follow the guide please.

Wazzbo, you're a star. How you have the patience to do the job and video/photograph it so well I really don't know! I'm usually too busy trying to find the thing that pinged accross the garage and landed in the oil drain pan I meant to empty a month ago (and swearing)! Thanks mate!

So, how many posts do I need the read the carb guide? Im soooo into opening it up, but not before I read everything i can get my hands on. Ilde has been stuttering for a while.
