Yes the trike is running with a hand gear change. On the build I have gone out of my way to build /do everything that I have been told won't work or will look wrong..lol.. so the engine had to be chain not shaft, fairly small cc, su carb, narrower axle etc. The gear change hand lever is on the right side, the linkages from the left go up through rear engine mount to the lever. Although the humble 250cc engine will be pulling 3 wheels, I am guessing it will still be good for 60 - 70 mph flat out! The "hardtail" frame with axle attached is not much heavier than the original frame and swingarm so really just the extra wheel that will take some of the power down, having said that it's not been built for speed, if I wanted fast would have used a busa, ninja or something else equally as faceless,

It was Desperate Dan's that hard tailed my first Superdream, there were two guys who ran it Chris Ireland and Boots, Boots moved over to Northern Ireland and opened a custom shop in Lisburn. Chris Ireland was the one who built the mad trikes featuring massive engines, one was called Meglomaniac I think. That looks like a very interesting project Roy I look forward to seeing it finished.

I see chris is doing the landspeed thing now.good luck to him.
