Went in the garage today and before I tried starting the NA tweaked the drain screw on both carbs , both had fuel in and I only drained a teaspoon or so out .
Pressed the button and it fired up immediately .......... maybe it is fixed and it was damp the other day , maybe it needs "fresh" fuel from the tank , maybe two days was soon enough, maybe I will adopt my normal policy and try and ignore it !

there`s a welcome thread on the home page where you can post a brief introduction and let the other members welcome you to the forum. we love pictures of bikes as well, most of us use photobucket to add pics to the site.

Thought I'd better give my 250 a run today, whilst it was dry. I haven't used it for about 12 weeks - since it got me to the Wales meet without any problems, I'm trying to keep the miles down to preserve it for this years meet, so I've only used it a couple of times since Wales. This has to be balanced with the starting issue if it's left too long. After all this time,I expected issues,so got the jump leads out ready. Much to my surprise, it started within a couple of seconds and in a few more I was able to push the choke in & it ticked over perfectly on 2 cylinders - I usually have to keep blipping the throttle 'till it's warmed up. So I reckon I've found the cure - a nice long thrash to the Wales meet, so make sure you come along this year Ps Enjoyed my little ride today, and was reminded that this is my favourite of all my bikes to ride!

A good ride out does them the world of good doesn`t it, that`s half the trouble with our bikes ,they don`t get used enough.

I am sure they run better when used every few days, that's the trouble with winter though not many days to get out on them so whenever roads are dry I try & get a little ride in just to keep things ticking over & that includes me ! I get sulky if I haven't had a two wheel fix, I cycle to work but it's not the same

My 400NA is the opposite, I can leave it 12 months & it starts instantly & runs perfectly. It has too much history though; I just can't rely on it to get me there & back. I'll see how the 400N turns out, but I don't think it'll be as much fun to ride as the 250

250's are a blast......for sure.
I think I've mentioned before, I enjoy the riding experience over the 400.

Guess what! I left the bike without starting it for a couple of weeks and it started lumpy, on one cylinder. After twenty seconds or so, it ran fine again. Must be the breed! Mike
