Dont forget long hair and beards, and balding men with comb overs trying to make a hairstyle out of what looked like shredded wheat on top of their heads lol You talking about me mate? I like the shredded wheat bit, I went through the phase for a while then gave up !

don't forget platform shoes, although hard to change gear in some shoes lol! I was actually thinking lately about getting a pair of platform shoes, not to wear but just to have like !

They were good for that 5 sprained ankles to their credit for me ,still I would insist on trying to run on 5 inch heels cream they were with chocolate highlights and gold stars ,the pinnacle of good taste (and yes I know I've only got two ankles but mine were repeat offenders )

In 76 I was 7 what a cracking year that was. Spent the whole summer outdoors, making gocarts, swimming, ropeswings, dens, cycling about in packs on choppers and chippers. Twas grand.

Kids don't do that anymore, they even walk round streets with their nose in their phones!

great summers, the drought years, summers that went on for ever, lived in adlestrop in the cotswolds (in the old station house) with my nan and her sister for those 2 years, lots of cycling with my second hand raleigh olympus (with cowhorn handlebars that cost me a hole in my thigh the size of an unplugged handlebar 3 inches from my boll33s when they folded up doing a wheely) and sitting in the river at bourton on the water to cool down, lusted after a raleigh chopper but dad said i had to have a proper bike or nothing, first village disco's (girls, they give you strange new feelings that you never had before!!), and first contact with motorcycling going to look at grasstrack racing and of course the inevetable C50 rides, nicking my dad's bantam when he used to come and visit us (he knew it anyway and used to say just keep to the back roads) wha t freedom and excitement for a young lad, i feel sorry for kids today, new an older lad who had a fantic chopper moped, now that and his mates on fs1e's and AP's for me was real bikers slade, great music and showmans, lots of differnet styles of music in the seventies, a good thing,
