Do you think one would look okay still after having 'done a winter' ?

There was a road test on the 250 version in one of the motoring Sunday supplements recently - got a good review. I was tempted, but thought 250 a bit underpowered for touring. Didn't know they did a 400 too, that might fit the bill.......
"Do you think one would look okay still after having 'done a winter' ? " That's the big question. There's quite a few Sinnis, Lexmoto & the like 125s over here, used by kids for work, left out in all weathers and minimum maintenance - you know, like what we used to do when we were kids - and they seem to keep going - won't last as long as an SD, but they do the job. Still, I don't know. I think I'll see how the CB500 turns out & if it's ok, I'll stick with that.

It looks nice ok, has a bit of a Bonneville /kawai W650 about it too. When I see the word *MASH* I keep thinking of Clinger, and little scutty army jeeps driving around in circles with helicopters over head and that terrible theme song. It also brings back memories of school dinners, mash potatoes and mushy peas, think if I bought one of these then the word 'Mash' would have to go. One thing I like about Chineese and Indian bikes is that many of their regular bikes have at least some degree of classic look about them and they look practicle as well. Most modern European bikes look dung in my opinion.

Not seen any for sale at less than £3000 , on Ebay at least they are closer to just under £4000 and for me that is getting too close to serious money . I've owned a few Chinese bikes and they are not as bad as people like to make out but spending that sort of money I would buy a "known" brand . Not seen one "in the flesh" but some of the detailing does not inspire me - the front mudguard and its stays , cheap "univeral" rear light etc . Though a s/h one in 18 months time for 1/2 the price might be a decent buy

Best start teaching the grandkids Chinese I think- their exports are so heavily subsidised nobody can compete on price. Remember way back "cheap Japanese crappy manufactured goods"? Then they sorted the quality out....
Why is the "Mash 500" only 400cc- am I missing some other connection with the 500 bit?
