Quick update
My SD took another few steps towards full recommissioning this week. Front brake was rebuilt last week with all genuine parts.
This week i swallowed my common sense and ordered a pair of TT100's and tubes (shame on my tubeless rims but hey ho - and omg are they proper money !!)
My nos battery box door came from Austria, to be fitted with a new genuine honda split pin.
I think these jobs and a new bulb put me in mot shape - planned for next sat.
oh ....... i forgot I have to sort my chain - it's done 600 miles but 38 years of storage have taken their toll - need to find out whether it can be used or not.
I do have a question please - i need to remove the starter - it's rusty - does this come out easily and can the three bolt frame to engine mount be removed - ie will the engine need additional support ? Cheers.

TT100's the right choice - they sit well and look good and hold the road

Starter might need a bit of tugging after the bolts are removed to get out, it's quite a tight fit & you might need a new O ring once it's out. Don't forget to drain the oil before you do it, or you'll get a puddle on the garage floor ( ask Fungo ). You'll need a jack under the front of the engine, to adjust the holes back in line to re-insert the bolts, if nothing else - it won't move much with all the other mounting bolts in place.
