So I was after a tatty 125-250, late 70s to early 80s to take advantage of tax & MoT heritage status in the near future, preferably a single and probably a CG125 or SR250 as there are a few of each around...I've never built a project bike but really fancied having a go at something like this: Love the simple lines and it just looks fun. Also not too heavy to have a play off road. I'm just not convinced my new SD is the best base, or that I want to rip into such a tidy bike with the grinder...plus the message on fueling seems to be the SD doesn't like pod filters and this build kind of demands it...

On the flipside, this looks pretty great

I think the sd's a good base for a cafe racer or flat tracker but I'd be reluctant to hack yours about, its too nice a bike. old rough ones do still turn up and sell for sensible money, other peoples unfinished projects are well worth a look too
