Just received what I was lead to believe was a genuine Neiman steering lock. What arrived was a cheap Chinese? copy. There is no way I am fitting this inferior crap to any of my bikes. Look at the way the keys bend with hardly any force whatsoever. Buyer beware!! If the pictures show anything Neiman or GKS then that is exactly what you should receive - they are / were a quality product.

Not always Chris - there were two designs. The one you have there is the better type as I’ve had a key snap before when I’ve left the key in the lock, straightening the handlebars....in fact it happened on an SD meet in North Wales a few years back.

Mine is the original lock and key Nick and it is the funny shape key but I do remember Daves 400 which is one of the first 800 built has a round key I think I will look next time I'm in his place

Just got refunded. It’s worth adding that this item came from Germany and the seller has provided me a genuine Neiman item in the past.
Won’t leave bad feedback as the outcome was satisfactory.

That's good Fungo - and my bad really. I shouldn't have been so hasty in the 'bad feedback' suggestion. As long as the seller is fair and will sort things out when necessary, then that's all that matters really. Glad you got it sorted.

Thanks Al.
I think your suggestion of neg feedback would also have been justified on this occasion. Why? Because at the end of the day, it was a negative experience. But the seller worked with me in the end to sort it out as best he could. So I think either approach would of been justified.
As an eBay seller myself, sometimes mistakes happen, I’m not a machine so it would be good to also have buyers giving me the benefit of the doubt before leaving bad feedback. Fair enough, if the guy had stuck his finger up and said get lost I would not have hesitated.

FB IMHO took the right stance
I bought a set of NOS crash bars 2 weeks ago in original packing
One had chrome peeling - replacement set on post next day - for me that’s a positive experience- no conflict - great seller
