Sorry this must crop up so many times Would Avon Roadriders be a good choice for my 250Na? What sizes do i need? I get confused with modern tyre sizing ( I was OK with 3.5 x 19 or whatever but i'm not sure waht all this 100/90 stuff means) The rims seem to be the same width but I'll want a wider tyre on the back? There's just a really skinny rubbish one on the back at the moment. Thanks in advance.

I know it's a personal thing but when I got my SD it had modern size tyres on and I didn't now any better then I joined this forum and you start seeing pics of other bikes like Nicks for example with proper size tyres on and you spot things like no room under front muddy and fat big tyre on rear so I fitted Dunlop TT 100's who do the correct size and oh my god how much better did my bike ride and handle and accelerate with Them on and will never use any size other than original

Metric Sizes;- 90/90 19 FRONT 100/90 18 REAR Minimum speed rating is "S" or later in the alphabet. TT or TL with a tube on the silver wheels MT1.85 rims.
AM26 are ok, (the 100/90 18 is universal), They are crossply and "V" 150mph rated if on tubeless rims, perhaps a bit less with tubes, still plenty for 250NA.

bodie makes a good point about original sizes (4.10/18 and 3.50/19 from memory, probably wrong) working best. a few years ago when the 600cc race reps started to get 180 section rear tyres the guys racing them were actually fitting 170 tyres to the rims because (on a track at least) fashion counts for nothing to them, they do whats right for the bike within the rules. also have to agree with bodie about weight, but my love affair with kebabs and beer is unlikely to end any time soon

I have roadriders, don't look as "classic" as some, but they work. Lets be honest the tyres originally fitted were absolutely dreadfull!

I have been using Avon road riders for quite a while now, they are ok and they handle much better than the old ones I had before that.

90/90 19 front and 90/100 18 on the back. Mine is an NB with tubeless tyres but they should work just as well with tubes.

I think you might mean 100/90 18 on the back
